Private Well Owner Online Training A free online class and series of webinars are available to teach private well owners how to manage, operate, and protect their wells to ensure their drinking water remains safe. The Private Well Class is a 10-part online class at www.privatewellclass.org with several live, interactive webinars on ground water basics, well care best practices, and how to find assistance. It will also teach well owners how to sample their well, how to interpret sample results, and what they can do to protect their well and source water from contamination. In the Idaho Falls area, webinar viewings will be hosted by Eastern Idaho Public Health District, 1250 Hollipark Drive, Idaho Falls. To view the webinars at this location, participants are encouraged, but not required, to contact Merrill or Kellye at 523-5382. Participants may attend the webinars without registering for the online class. Steve Wilson, a ground water hydrologist with the Illinois State Water Survey with over 20 years of experience working with private well owners, will serve as the primary instructor for the class. The program targets and applies to all private well owners across the country, including Southeast Idaho. It is sponsored by the Illinois State Water Survey, the Illinois Water Resources Center at the University of Illinois, and the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) through a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
