Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Cases on the Rise - Vaccination is the Best Protection: Free Immunization Clinic for Children to be Held May 20

Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory tract infection. Although it initially resembles an ordinary cold, whooping cough may eventually turn more serious and can be fatal, especially in babies less than 1 year of age. Whooping cough is known for uncontrollable, violent coughing which often makes it hard to breathe.The best way to prevent pertussis and other diseases is to get your child vaccinated. Eastern Idaho Public Health District and the Eastern Idaho Immunization Task Force is holding a FREE (no out-of-pocket cost) IMMUNIZATION CLINIC FOR CHILDREN. Read more.

Notice of Public Budget Hearing - June 5, 2013

On May 16, 2013, EIPHD's Board of Health met and approved the district's FY14 budget.In accordance with ยง39-423, Idaho Code, the Budget Committee of EIPHD (consisting of the chairmen of the eight participating counties' Boards of County Commissioners) will meet to consider the Fiscal Year 2014 budget request of the health district. Bus Service Now Available to Health District Office in Idaho Falls

The Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority (TRPTA) has changed its fixed bus routes in Idaho Falls and we are happy to announce that Eastern Idaho Public Health District is now a stop on the Yellow Route. For complete bus routes, schedules, fares, and more, visit www.trpta.org.

Network of CareNetwork of Care

On September 18, 2012, Idaho's Public Health Districts launched the Network of Care for Public Health, a community-based web portal program that provides individuals, families, policy makers, and public health leaders with a wealth of health-related information at the county, health district, state, and national levels. On the site, Eastern Idaho Public Health District is PHD7 and includes Bonneville, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, and Teton Counties.
